About Us
First Tuesday was founded in London in 1998 to provide a first-of-its-kind forum for technology entrepreneurs and companies seeking venture capital, investors and related service providers. First Tuesday became a synonym with the dot com boom and was regularly featured in local and international press. The organisation expanded into more than 100 countries and had at its height in 2000 with over 500,000 members worldwide and 20,000 in London alone. Following the changing market trends the majority of the First Tuesday offices were closed down in 2002.
As the Internet sector over the last years has become an established industry with real profits and actual users there is yet again a need for First Tuesday. US venture capitalists invested more in new technologies in the second quarter of this year than in any quarter since 2001 and the last 18 months we have re-opened branches across key locations in Europe and this September we are opening in London.
Today we have 38,000 members and our 10 branches across Europe host meetings on the first Tuesday of every month, making us the largest network of our kind – a totally unique offer to participants and sponsors.
