About the First Tuesday Award 2008

a) Entry Requirement
1. The company must have its registered office in the UK.
2. The company’s main source of revenue must be directly related to an internet technology.
3. The company must be privately held.
3. If put forward as a finalist, a member of the company’s senior management must be able to join us on the Final, 30th April 2008 1-3pm, for a presentation in front of a live audience.
4. Provide the information asked for in the Nominations Application and if required to be able to verify statements.

b) The Nomination
Starting in March 2008 you can nominate your own company or someone else’s every week until Tuesday 22 April, 6pm. Every week in April five companies are shortlisted so the sooner you submit your nomination the more likely it is to get shortlisted as the number of nominations increases as we approach the final deadline. The more of the requested information you are able to provide the more likely the nomination is to be put forward to the Review Board.

c) Deadlines
The earlier your nomination reach us the greater the chances are of it being shortlisted for the final:
Week 1 group deadline: Tuesday 15th April 2008, 6pm
Week 2 group deadline: Tuesday 22nd April 2008, 6pm

d) The Review Board
The Review Board is made up of 10 senior investors and business advisors from 5 different companies. They meet once a week during the 4 weeks leading up to the final and select five companies to shortlist among the nominations made that week. In total 20 companies will be shortlisted over 4 weeks.

d) The Shortlist
The shortlisted companies are invited to attend the free 1-to-1 Mentor Sessions held at the Internet World exhibition (first come first serve, subject to availability), see details below.
 
e) The Jury
The Jury is made up of four seasoned Internet entrepreneurs and investors. Once the last deadline has expired the Review Board revises the shortlisted companies and picks the 10 most promising Internet Companies and presents this to the Jury. The Jury will invite 3 companies to attend the final by Friday 25th April.

f) The Final
The final is held Wednesday 30th April 2008 3.00-4.00pm, in the Keynote Theatre at the Internet World exhibition at Earls Court, London in front of a live audience. Each of the three finalist will give a five minute pitch about their company, and the Jury will pick one winner.

g) The Winner 
The winner will decided on the final by the Jury and annouced.

First Tuesday 1-to-1 Mentoring
When: 29th April - 1st May 2008, 10.00am – 4.00pm
Where: Internet World, First Tuesday Exhibition Space: E101
Free of charge - Advance booking required, confirmed booking only

The 20 shortlisted companies will be offered to attend a free 1-to-1 Mentoring sessions with expert senior business advisors. They are able to give you feedback on your application and offer any advice you might find valuable to further excel the growth of your business. The 1-to-1 Mentor sessions are available on a first come, first serve basis. Unreserved slots will be offered to interested attendees of the Internet World.


First Tuesday Master Class

When: 30th April 2008 1.30pm – 2.00pm
Where: Internet World, Master Class Theatre
Free of charge – show up to attend

The First Tuesday master class is open to everyone attending the Internet World exhibition and the topic discussed is, “How to raise Venture Capital” and is presented by three industry experts.


First Tuesday Awards Networking After Party
When:
Tuesday 6th May 2008 7.00pm
Where: The Hospital Club, Covent Garden
Registration Fee £10 - advance booking required, confirmed Guest List only. Sign up by emailing events@firsttuesday.org.uk and include contact details, job title/role and company name.

Everyone that in one way or the other interacts with the First Tuesday Award leading up to the final will be invited to attend the official Networking After Party. This is a unique opportunity to connect with UK’s most exciting Internet companies, investors and related Service Providers.
