With recruitment claiming a massive 25.7% share (ca £700 million) of online advertising spend in the UK - more than retail, auto, finance, FMCG and technology - and 80% of UK jobseekers searching online rather than off, online recruitment is one of the fastest growing and profitable Internet sectors right now.

It is not just the recruitment advertising sites and their investors that are jumping of excitement, in a recent survey carried out by the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) among HR professionals the key drivers for increased use of online recruitment were; reducing recruitment costs (cited by 71%), broadening the selection pool (60%) and increasing the speed of time to hire (47%). Over a third of respondees believed it brought greater flexibility and ease for candidates, and over a quarter believed it strengthened the employer brand. This win-win situation has paved the wave for the fastest industry paradigm shift witnessed so far.
